My name is John, and I'm a freelance artist looking to sell my work.

I have been an artist all my life and have done various art courses such as, A- level art at Rossett school, Foundation art and Design at York Collage and I have recently completed my degree in Creative Arts at Aberytwyth University.

My main interests are in Illustration and Creative Writing. I love all sorts of stories, particularly Fantasy and Science Fiction. I personally feel that they are the most inventive and exciting genres of storytelling.

The Lord of the Rings I would say are my all time favourite books and movies and I have read and watched them many times over, so much that I could probably recite them, particularly the movies.

I also really like children's stories, I'm currently working on illustrating a children's book which my friend is writing all about listening and being brave. It has lots of animals like robins, parrots, wrens and deer in it. So I'm open to illustrating all sorts of stories, and doing many different types of artwork.

I have painted various landscapes around Aberytwyth, on the beach and around the town, using more creative colours reflecting mood and creating a story.

I have been to life drawing classes, drawing and painting nude figures and still life’s. I'm also looking into drawing and painting pets. I've painted and drawn my Cocker Spaniel, Rosie, on canvas as a birthday present for my mother. It's also available for sale as a print.

Portfolio

This is the portfolio section. In summary I have created a few short films spanning lengths from 2 minutes to 15 minutes, written and illustrated several short comics, as well as samples of three books as part of his BA hons creative arts course. These include Terry Pratchett's the Colour of Magic,The Witcher: Blood of Elves by Adrzej Sapkowski and H.G Wells: The Magic Shop Having written a few short fan scripts for movies or plays. I have begun to animate and voice act some of these films. I am relatively new to animation and I am still perfecting and learning my style. I prefer the genres of Fantasy and Science Fiction finding them the most imaginative and inventive and to me the most inspiring of the fictional genres. I take pleasure in capturing and learning from the world around me, putting memories and feelings associated with place to the page. I have studied the world through drawing and painting, allowing these dreams to grow and become more realistic. I have studied trees, flowers, water and sky and many other wonderful things life has to offer. I have also drawn many different types of buildings, from skyscrapers to the common two storey house. I have also studied clothing and armour from many different cultures throughout history
